谁知道rediscovering china 四月十五日那期节目的对话,关于世博会的,最好是原版英文

Wow, what a great time we all had in Europe. We met such a full range of interesting and terrific people and saw parts of beautiful Europe. The people we met had such fantastic stories to share about their own personal experiences discovering China, and while it is not uncommon for foreigners to share with Rediscovering China their own experiences and stories about China from their unique foreign perspective, this was the first time we had actually left China to interview people living outside of China. I was quite interested to see if they would have offer any different takes or perspectives compared with those foreigners living in China.
We interviewed a full range of people from many different walks of life including: The Queen’s Commissioner of the province of Utrecht in Holland, two dutch princes Prince Pieter Christiaan and Prince Bernard Jr. who we had the pleasure of interviewing between laps racing their muscle cars on the race track in Holland, an extremely successful businessman by the name of Aad Ouborg, the president of Agfa Healthcare Mr Christian Reinaudo, and two very talented musicians Carel Kraayenhof and Alexandria Beck. As it turned out, all these people had been to China and had first hand experiences of China one way or the other.
With the Province of Utrecht being the sister province of Guangdong in China, the Queen’s commissioner of Utrecht had been fortunate enough to have made many visits to China, and he told us he believed that Holland and China have a lot to learn from each other. With Holland being able to offer technical expertise to China, and Holland in turn being able to learn from China’s way of dealing with different situations. Something I believe could perhaps be best described as chinese wisdom.
The two princes were no strangers to China either, both of them had made frequents visits prior to, and also during, the Beijing Olympics. They had even participated in a rally car race along part of the ancient silk road path racing old classic cars as part of an event designed to bring the west and east closer together.
And of course with China’s booming economy making China a haven for foreign businesses, it was interesting to hear from some top European businessman about just valuable China is as an economic partner and their views on doing business in China. The president of the billion dollar multinational Agfa Healthcare company gave us his perspective on the importance of the Chinese market and an in-depth account of their huge efforts to implement their healthcare solutions into China’s booming healthcare industry. The president himself had spent over two years living in Shanghai and I was very impressed by his understanding of Chinese culture and also the Chinese market.
Sharing a laugh with the President of Agfa Healthcare Mr Christian Reinaudo before the interview.
Finally i’d like to say thanks to the Europe-China Foundation for helping organize such a great trip to Europe and putting us in touch with such fantastic people. The Europe-China Foundation is an organization that promotes China into Europe , they have even helped establish formal Traditional Chinese medicine clinics (TCM) in Europe, and due to their wide network in China they are very active in helping European businesses find partners in China. We can expect them to play a big role in strengthening European links to China in the future.
We stay tuned to CCTV-9’s ’Rediscovering China’ for part two in our European-Links to China series.
Thanks for watching Rediscovering China,
Tom Shanahan
